The story
Catherine House offers its students an extraordinary bargain: a free education and the promise of influence, in exchange for three years completely separated from the outside world. Ines Murillo arrives carrying a past she would prefer to escape, but finds the school’s routines difficult to inhabit. Parties, friendships and institutional expectations compete for her attention while an exclusive field of study remains just out of reach. A disturbing discovery draws her toward the secrets beneath the university’s prestige. This Gothic campus novel follows an unsettled student whose search for belonging becomes an investigation into what the institution demands from the people it claims to transform.
