Blue Is the Warmest Color

Clémentine is trying to understand herself when she encounters Emma, whose blue hair and confidence leave a lasting impression. Their growing connection opens possibilities that the expectations around Clémentine have not allowed her to imagine. Friendship, attraction and the prospect of love draw her toward a life that may put her at odds with people she depends on. As the relationship develops, the women face both the pressures surrounding them and the difficulties within their own bond. Told through an intimate account of memory and discovery, this graphic novel follows a young woman's recognition of desire and the changes that loving Emma brings to her world.
