Bloody Rose

Tam Hashford knows adventure through the stories that reach the tavern where she works. Joining Bloody Rose's mercenary band as its bard offers a chance to leave the familiar behind and witness the exploits people will one day retell. Life beside celebrated fighters, however, is more demanding than listening to their legends. Tam must find her place among people whose reputations do not reveal everything about them, while a dangerous undertaking carries the group beyond the security of performance and applause. Travelling with Rose gives her the adventure she wanted, but also forces her to confront the distance between becoming part of a story and understanding its cost.
