Black Iris

Laney Keating arrives at college carrying the damage of a past she cannot simply put behind her. Bullying, family pain and an unstable sense of safety have left her wary of other people. Armin and Blythe offer a connection that unsettles her expectations, drawing her into a friendship charged with desire and uncertain loyalties. But starting over does not mean the people who hurt her have disappeared. As Laney's new attachments become entangled with her need for revenge, intimacy and retaliation begin to pull in dangerous directions. Trust becomes difficult to separate from strategy in a story about the choices made when survival no longer feels like enough.
