Another Stupid Love Song

Rock musician Maxine Gardner has a famous past and a much less certain present. A reunion might revive her career, but one former bandmate is dead and another wants nothing to do with her. Jasmine Weathers, who performs as Jade, has musical ambitions that do not match her aunt’s plans for a classical career. Her late mother’s connection to Maxine makes working together a difficult prospect before attraction enters the picture. Each woman arrives with assumptions about the other and the history between their families. As music brings them closer, professional hopes become entangled with old grievances and new feelings. Building something together requires deciding how much authority the past should have over their future.
