Annie on My Mind

Liza Winthrop meets Annie Kenyon at a New York museum and finds herself drawn to a girl whose imagination opens up a different way of seeing the city. Their friendship grows into first love, bringing delight alongside feelings neither has fully understood before. Liza's school and family, however, have expectations that leave little room for the relationship she wants. When their private world comes under scrutiny, the girls face pressure to question what has felt natural between them. Told through Liza's effort to make sense of the past, the novel follows two teenagers learning to name their love while navigating the judgments of adults and institutions around them.
