Agatha of Little Neon
2021
The story
Agatha has spent nine years sharing a small, ordered life with her fellow religious sisters. They work, pray and live together, their sense of purpose closely tied to one another and to Mother Roberta. When their parish runs out of money, the women relocate to Woonsocket and take responsibility for a halfway house. The people they meet there complicate the boundaries of the world Agatha has known. Teaching mathematics at a girls' school also sends her out alone, without her sisters beside her to explain where she belongs. New attachments and private questions force Agatha to consider whether the life she has called home has also been a place to hide.
