You Know Me Well
2016
The story
Mark and Kate have spent a school year sitting near each other without becoming friends. A chance meeting during a night out changes that distance, giving each someone unexpected to confide in. Kate has just fled the prospect of meeting a girl she has admired from afar. Mark is struggling with his feelings for his best friend Ryan and the uncertainty of whether they are returned. Their new friendship grows quickly as familiar relationships become difficult to navigate. Told through alternating perspectives, the story places Kate’s sapphic romantic hopes alongside Mark’s own experience of first love. Both must consider how being honest with a near stranger can reveal things they have avoided telling themselves.
