Little & Lion
2017
The story
Returning to Los Angeles from boarding school, Suzette is unsure where she now belongs. Home offers familiar friendships, a possible romance with Emil and a renewed connection with her stepbrother Lionel, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Settling back into family life becomes more complicated when Suzette develops feelings for a girl Lionel also likes. Her attractions do not fit into a simple choice, and the siblings’ overlapping desires strain an already sensitive relationship. As Lionel’s difficulties intensify, Suzette must examine earlier mistakes and the limits of what she can do for someone she loves. Family responsibility and bisexual self-discovery intertwine in a story about care, loyalty and difficult conversations.
