You Don't Have a Shot

Soccer is woven into nearly everything Vale Castillo-Green wants: her friendships, her future and her father's expectations. A fight with rival Leticia Ortiz during the playoffs threatens that carefully planned path. Returning to a childhood soccer camp seems like a chance to recover, until Vale learns that Leticia will be her co-captain. Their inexperienced team has an opportunity to play before college scouts, but only if the captains can stop working against each other. As pressure from home and friction with friends mount, Vale begins to rely on the person she once most wanted to beat. Cooperation opens the door to understanding, attraction and questions about what playing the game should mean to her.
