The Shewstone

Eawynn and Matt grow up in the same port city under very different kinds of protection. Abandoned at a temple as a small child, Eawynn is raised for life among its priestesses. Matt earns a crime lord's respect on the streets and becomes his adopted daughter and heir. Nearly twenty years later, the responsibilities their families have given them bring the two women into direct conflict. Eawynn is entrusted with guarding the Shewstone, an orb believed to hold prophetic power. Matt has been sent to steal it. Their meeting places the demands of faith and the underworld against a connection neither upbringing has prepared them to handle, with a coveted magical object at the centre.
