The Senator’s Wife

Professional soccer player Alex Grey expects a short South Carolina holiday to provide rest before the season ahead. Witnessing a sailing accident changes the visit completely when she risks her life to rescue Catharine Cleveland, the wife of a United States senator. Their subsequent meetings bring two very different public lives into contact. Friendship develops into attraction, but Catharine's marriage and the scrutiny surrounding both women's careers make acknowledging it difficult. From sporting environments to political circles, private desire must negotiate consequences that reach beyond the two people involved. The opening volume of Jen Lyon's series follows Alex and Catharine as they consider whether a relationship can be pursued when the lives they already lead leave so little space for it.
