The Hollow Inside

Seventeen-year-old Phoenix has spent years moving from place to place with her mother, Nina, surviving through deception and whatever opportunities appear. Their arrival in Jasper Hollow has a more deliberate purpose. Nina wants revenge against Ellis Bowman, a man whose respectable standing hides a past she has never forgotten. Getting close to his family is part of the plan, but Phoenix’s connection with his daughter, Melody, makes the assignment increasingly personal. As different accounts of the past emerge, Phoenix can no longer assume that the story she has inherited is the whole truth. The closer she gets to the family, the harder it becomes to separate loyalty, attraction and her own judgment.
