BETWEEN THE COVERS

The story

Jess Wong is used to keeping her feelings for Angie Redmond private. Being close to her best friend seems preferable to risking the relationship by asking for more. Then Angie becomes involved with Margot Adams, a girl from an exclusive boarding school, and Jess finds herself drawn into a social world that leaves her feeling increasingly displaced. Resentment and concern become difficult to distinguish as she notices tensions others appear willing to ignore. What begins with a shift in friendship develops into a mystery shaped by secrecy, desire and unequal power. Jess must decide what her observations mean when loving someone does not necessarily make her understanding of them reliable.
