The Awakening

Sunny Skye understands ghosts more easily than she understands everyday life. As founder and lead investigator of the Sisters of Spirits paranormal society, she helps people face experiences they cannot explain. Meeting Jordan Lawson presents a different challenge: the tough-minded police officer carries personal pain that draws Sunny's attention as strongly as the attraction between them. Jordan has built her identity around facts and self-reliance, leaving little room for spirits or psychic explanations. Even a direct encounter with the inexplicable does not readily change her position. As the women are pulled toward one another, their incompatible understandings of the world test how much trust they can offer beyond the evidence each already accepts.
