That Summer Feeling
2023
The story
After divorce disrupts the future she expected, Garland Moore signs up for an adults-only summer camp hoping to rediscover some pleasure and possibility. Meeting Mason seems significant: he resembles a man from an earlier vision of her future. But the person who increasingly holds Garland’s attention is his sister, Stevie, a former park ranger who becomes her roommate. Camp activities and shared time give their connection room to develop, challenging the story Garland thought she was supposed to follow. Attraction asks her to reconsider both her assumptions and the shape of a satisfying life. Away from familiar routines, she must decide whether to trust an old prediction or pay attention to what she is feeling now.
