Sorry, Bro
2023
The story
Nareh has spent years keeping parts of her life out of view. After an ill-judged proposal from her boyfriend, her mother offers a different solution: meet a suitable Armenian man during a month of cultural events in San Francisco. Nar agrees to explore her heritage, but the person who captures her attention is Erebuni, a woman whose enthusiasm for Armenian traditions makes each gathering feel unexpectedly alive. As their connection grows, Nar must reckon with being bisexual while still closeted to her mother. Community, family expectations and the possibility of love pull her in competing directions, turning an attempted fresh start into a much more personal leap.
