Skylarks

Joni knows how much money determines the choices a family can make. Her father’s back problems and the threat of losing their home leave little space for the kind of carefree life other teenagers seem to enjoy. Annabel comes from a world of wealth and security that feels impossibly far from Joni’s own. Yet the girls find themselves drawn together, and their growing connection asks them to look beyond the assumptions each brings to the relationship. Falling in love does not erase the differences between their lives. As Joni tries to protect her family and find a voice in the fight for a fairer future, she must decide where Annabel fits into it.
