Skye Falling

BETWEEN THE COVERS

The story

Skye has built a life around travel and the freedom to leave before relationships become demanding. On a visit to Philadelphia, a twelve-year-old girl challenges that independence by announcing that she was conceived using an egg Skye donated years earlier. The connection is unexpected, and deciding to take it seriously proves more complicated than simply agreeing to stay in touch. The girl's aunt is also the woman Skye recently tried to flirt with, adding another awkward possibility to the situation. With family reaching out and her old neighborhood changing around her, Skye must reconsider what belonging might ask of her and whether a life with fewer exits could offer something she has missed.
