Say a Little Prayer

Riley's faith has become difficult to reconcile with the way her church treats people she loves. After defending her sister leads to trouble at school, she agrees to attend church camp as an alternative to suspension. Rather than quietly accepting the rules, Riley begins testing them, turning a list of supposed sins into her own form of protest. Her feelings for best friend Julia complicate the experiment: Julia is also the pastor's daughter. This young adult romance follows a bisexual teenager trying to separate belief from exclusion while deciding how openly to live. Humor and defiance accompany questions about belonging, friendship and whether the community she has known can make room for who she is.
