Aki Simon knows she is bisexual, but so far her dating experience has involved only boys and her best friend Lori is the only person who knows she also likes girls. A summer church trip to Mexico gives her an opportunity to move beyond imagining what a different relationship might be like. There she meets Christa, an older girl whose confidence attracts her. Aki’s determination to experience life more fully quickly meets questions she cannot answer in advance. Attraction, sex, friendship and faith all become part of a summer of experimentation. As she and Christa grow closer, Aki must consider the difference between pursuing an experience and understanding what she actually feels.
