Meet Me in the Garden
2026
The story
In 1944 New Orleans, Odette Honore belongs to a Creole family admired within its community, but the future expected of her is not the one she wants. Her ambitions lie in art, and her love is for a woman. Only her cousin Delphine shares the full truth. Meeting in a secluded garden, they imagine lives that might offer greater freedom, even as race, family and their secret relationships limit what seems possible. Years later in Los Angeles, both women have made choices that carry unexpected consequences. Their paths have diverged, and a crisis forces Odette to reconsider what she owes her family and herself. This multigenerational story follows the costs of concealment and the uncertain work of creating a life beyond it.
