The story
Couples therapist Claire Renshaw's engagement ends just as her professional future depends on appearing to understand successful relationships. Worried that the breakup will jeopardise a self-help book deal, she decides to hire an actress to pose as her fiancée. Lana Henderson needs the work, but her informal habits and direct manner are far from Claire's ideal. That mismatch initially seems reassuring: an arrangement with someone so unsuitable should remain purely practical. As Lana becomes part of Claire's daily life, the performance grows harder to distinguish from genuine affection. This fake-relationship romance follows two women whose contrasting approaches to order, appearance and intimacy begin to unsettle the plan that brought them together in the first place.
