Enemies by Nature

The existence of shape-shifters is public knowledge, and relations between humans and the Wrasa are deteriorating. Their council proposes a reassuring public romance between fox-shifter Tala Peterson and Faith MacAllister, the daughter of a prominent opponent. Neither woman welcomes the arrangement. Tala distrusts Faith, while Faith has agreed to more than the council realizes: she is gathering information for her father. Performing attraction becomes harder to control when a visit to Tala's adoptive wolf pack forces the pair into close quarters. The first half of a two-book story follows a staged relationship whose growing intimacy puts inherited prejudices and divided loyalties under pressure, with consequences beyond the women themselves.
