In Pursuit of Justice
Justice · Book 2
The story
Rebecca Frye is determined to return to police work after a shooting nearly killed her. A temporary federal task-force assignment places her alongside computer specialist J. T. Sloan in an investigation of child sexual exploitation online. Yet Rebecca’s search for the person responsible for her partner’s death remains painfully personal. Her commitment to the case begins to threaten both her safety and the relationship she is building with Dr. Catherine Rawlings. Catherine’s own professional involvement makes it increasingly difficult to keep the investigation outside their private lives. When a task-force member is targeted, the danger becomes impossible to treat as abstract. Rebecca must navigate competing loyalties and unresolved grief while deciding how to pursue justice without sacrificing the connection that has begun to anchor her.
