Ash’s mother disappeared three years ago, leaving behind a house full of her belongings and the fantasy world she once imagined. When Ash and a group of new friends find a way into Koretris, that invented place proves to be real—and apparently open only to girls. Ash has always been treated as a boy, so being able to enter raises questions that cannot be explained away by the adventure alone. Alongside Junebug, Chloe and Eleanor, for whom Ash is developing feelings, the journey becomes a chance to explore both a missing parent’s secrets and a more personal truth.
