Dragon Horse War: The Calling

A society organized around shared provision and respect for difference begins to fracture when extreme weather destroys crops and kills thousands. Fear and hunger make old stories of divine punishment newly persuasive, and a violent religious faction exploits the uncertainty. Jael commands a dormant group of dragon horse warriors called back into service against the threat. Alyssa, a young priestess, brings a different belief about how the crisis should be answered. Their disagreements threaten the mission even as attraction draws them together. Faced with the question of whether force can preserve peace, the two women must confront both the enemy's influence and the tension between their principles, their duties and their increasingly entwined futures.
