A Fugitive's Kiss

Darin is running from the life she has known, hiding abilities that could make her easier to find. With hunters behind her, a remote barn offers a brief chance to rest. Its owner, Aysha, distrusts people from the north and has no reason to welcome a stranger whose presence brings unanswered questions. Suspicion does not prevent an attraction from developing, however, and their connection gives Darin something to hope for beyond escape. When her pursuers threaten Aysha as well, the women must flee together. Seeking safety in another land means confronting the pasts they carry with them, even as they try to imagine a life neither could reach alone.
