Dangerous Allies

Diana’s career has narrowed to desk duty after a serial killer injures her in a hit-and-run. Approaching fifty and frustrated by the limits placed on her, she is drawn back into active work by a late-night call. Naomi Happleburn, a quiet graphic designer with unusually acute hearing, has witnessed a murder and is now in danger herself. Protecting Naomi gives Diana a way back into the field, but the investigation offers few clear loyalties and increasing reasons for caution. Their growing connection complicates the distance an assignment is supposed to require. As the threat closes around Naomi, Diana must navigate an uncertain case while deciding how much trust either woman can safely place in the other.
