Conflict of Interest

Detective Aiden Carlisle attends a law-enforcement seminar expecting professional obligations rather than a personal connection. Psychologist Dawn Kinsley changes that expectation. Although Dawn has resolved not to date another police officer after an earlier relationship failed, the attraction between them is difficult to ignore. Before they can establish what it might mean, a violent crime makes Dawn part of Aiden's working life in a far more complicated way. The possibility of romance now sits alongside professional boundaries and the need to respond to harm with care. Opening the Portland Police Bureau series, this romantic suspense follows two women whose promising encounter becomes entangled with an investigation neither can treat as merely professional.
