Next of Kin

Deputy District Attorney Kade Matheson has organized her life around professional achievement, leaving little room for relationships. When a stalker threatens that carefully controlled world, she initially tries to manage the danger alone. Lieutenant Del Vasquez, who has admired Kade from a distance, is determined to help protect her. As the threat escalates, the two women take refuge at Kade's mother's home, where physical proximity makes emotional distance increasingly difficult to maintain. For Kade, acknowledging an attraction to women is unfamiliar territory, and accepting protection is its own challenge. This romantic suspense follows the collision between a real threat to her safety and feelings that unsettle her understanding of herself.
