Caged Bird Rising

Robyn has grown up in a village where men's authority determines what women may do and whom they must marry. Her expected future with Hunter Wolfmounter leaves little room for a choice of her own. A bite from a white wolf becomes part of the upheaval that sends her into the forest, away from the rules that have defined her life. There she meets Gwen and begins to imagine a different relationship with both the world and herself. Familiar fairy-tale dangers take on new meanings as Robyn confronts the expectations she has inherited. Finding freedom means questioning the stories that taught her where safety and danger were supposed to lie.
