At Her Service

Max Van Doren knows what she wants: progress in her Hollywood assistant job and the courage to approach Sadie, the bartender she cannot stop thinking about. Knowing how to get either feels much less straightforward. Her confident influencer roommate Chelsey offers an answer through a self-improvement app, and Max accepts the chance to let an algorithm guide her decisions. Early successes make the experiment seem worthwhile, until the public campaign around it begins exposing pieces of her private life. Attraction, sponsorship and friendship become difficult to separate. To find a future that belongs to her, Max must reconsider whose advice she follows and whether visibility is the same as being understood.
