On Her Terms

At thirty-six, Clementine has ended a relationship with a man and started questioning the conventional future she once accepted. Exploring what she wants leads to an unusual proposal from dog groomer Chloe Lee: a pretend relationship to help them navigate family and social obligations. The arrangement gives Clem a way into new experiences, but spending time with Chloe soon matters more than maintaining the performance. Chloe is less convinced that Clem's feelings are specific to her rather than part of a wider eagerness to stop being single. As their lives become increasingly intertwined, Clem must work out how to communicate a desire she is only beginning to understand herself.
