Ammonite

Anthropologist Marghe Taishan travels to Jeep to test a vaccine against a virus that has transformed the planet’s human population. The original colony’s men died generations ago, while surviving women developed societies outsiders barely understand. A corporate expedition has already left its own personnel isolated and afraid. Marghe’s research takes her beyond their assumptions and into a world where scientific observation cannot remain separate from participation. As she encounters different communities and experiences changes of her own, the distinction between visitor and inhabitant begins to shift. Her search for knowledge raises increasingly personal questions about belonging, bodily autonomy and the consequences of bringing an outsider’s power into an established world.
