A Guide to the Dark

A college-tour road trip leaves best friends Mira and Layla stranded at an isolated Indiana motel. Their room affects them differently from the start. Layla sees a worn place worth photographing and is distracted by feelings for Mira that she does not yet know how to address. Mira feels something wrong beneath the ordinary surroundings, then begins seeing the brother whose death already haunts her. Discovering that eight people have died in the room turns their uneasy stay into a mystery they cannot safely ignore. The girls must work out what connects those deaths to Mira's experiences before another life is claimed, while grief and attraction complicate their understanding of each other.
