Trouble Girls

Trixie and Lux set out for a weekend away from their rustbelt town with modest supplies and hopes of briefly leaving their worries behind. A violent encounter transforms the trip into flight, and the girls find themselves pursued by police and exposed to relentless public attention. Other people begin assigning meaning to their story, turning them into symbols of a movement they did not choose to represent. Meanwhile, the practical business of staying ahead becomes harder as resources run low and decisions grow more desperate. Their friendship develops into love under pressures neither anticipated. With their future narrowing, trusting each other may be the only choice that still feels like their own.
