Those Fatal Flowers

Thelia's punishment binds her to a siren's existence after the loss of Proserpina, the goddess she loved. For years, luring sailors toward destruction seems to offer the only possible path out of her captivity. When that familiar pattern falters and Proserpina's voice calls her toward a different task, Thelia is forced to reconsider the terms of her freedom. Her journey eventually brings her into human form and the precarious world of the Roanoke colony, where a woman's resemblance to her lost love creates another powerful attachment. Blending classical myth with colonial history, this dark historical fantasy follows a protagonist whose desire for reunion cannot be separated from anger, survival and revenge.
