This Is the Way the World Ends

Scholarship student Waverly is used to adjusting herself to fit among Webber Academy's wealthy pupils. Being autistic adds another layer to the performance, and tutoring helps her manage the gap between their resources and hers. An invitation to attend the school's fundraising masquerade in another girl's place offers a rare chance to enter its glamorous inner circle. Her secret ex-girlfriend Ash will be there, too. The evening becomes dangerous when Waverly witnesses a murder at a private meeting involving the school's leadership and donors. A global blackout then traps the guests inside. Waverly and her friends must find a way through the building's hidden spaces while wondering what awaits them outside.
