The Snowball Effect

Regan Gallagher needs a roommate while her best friend is away, and Emma Bordeaux needs somewhere affordable to live. The arrangement would be ideal if Emma did not have two years of disastrous encounters with Regan to remember. Sharing a home gives neither woman much opportunity to keep her distance, though Emma intends to try. Then Emma’s mother returns and mistakes them for a couple. Regan goes along with it, turning an already awkward living situation into a performance neither planned. As their pretend relationship gathers momentum, the women must reconsider the assumptions that have kept them at odds—and the feelings becoming harder to dismiss as part of the act.
