The Secret Pond

Overwhelmed by grief after losing her family, Lindsey McDermott leaves her job and retreats with a new puppy to her grandparents’ home in the Texas Hill Country. Nearby, widowed Hannah Larson reluctantly moves with her son Jack to a house connected to her late husband’s family. Neither woman arrives expecting a new beginning to feel easy. Jack’s friendship with Lindsey draws Hannah into a summer of swimming, companionship, and small moments of relief. When school resumes, Lindsey remains part of their lives, and Hannah begins to notice how much their connection has changed.
