The Pyramid Waltz

Princess Katya Nar Umbriel encourages a reputation for pleasure, idleness and broken hearts. It is a useful distraction from the work she does after the court has gone to bed: hunting threats to the crown and concealing the royal family's monstrous inheritance. An attempt to expose her father's secret reveals a conspiracy with far greater ambitions. Starbride comes to court for another reason entirely. She wants to study law, despite her mother's determination that she secure a useful marriage. The princess is a distraction she has not allowed for, and their attraction draws her toward dangerous truths. In a palace built on concealment, honesty between the two women may be as difficult as surviving the plot around them.
