Starworld

Sam and Zoe move through school in different social worlds, but both are exhausted by responsibilities they cannot easily share. Sam worries about her mother and whether she can leave home to pursue aerospace engineering. Zoe hides her own family's difficulties behind a more confident public image. After an unexpected exchange of phone numbers, their messages become a private imaginative space called Starworld, where they can offer each other humor, escape and understanding. The connection helps them feel seen in ways their daily lives do not. When Sam's feelings become romantic, however, the girls must confront whether the world they have created can hold needs that may no longer match.
