Seeing Red

Hunter is balancing nursing school, unpaid bills and responsibility for her nephews while trying to keep her sister from returning to a destructive relationship. Their precarious finances make a well-paid offer of nursing work difficult to refuse. The job comes through a woman in a red cap whose grandmother needs care, and the new connection gives Hunter an unexpected chance to imagine safety and desire in the same future. But the family’s troubles do not disappear when relief arrives. An old threat remains capable of reaching them, complicating the possibility of a new romance. This contemporary Little Red Riding Hood reimagining follows a woman protecting loved ones while learning to consider her own needs.
