Scorched Grace

Sister Holiday has found a home in a New Orleans religious community, but her life before taking vows remains complicated. When fires target Saint Sebastian’s School, she is unwilling to leave the investigation entirely to the authorities. The tattooed, chain-smoking queer nun begins asking questions among students, colleagues and fellow sisters, encountering secrets that make familiar surroundings increasingly uncertain. Pursuing the arsonist also forces her to confront parts of her own past that faith has not neatly resolved. Her position gives her access to the community while leaving her an unconventional investigator within it. This opening Sister Holiday mystery follows the uneasy connections between devotion, suspicion and the effort to protect a sanctuary under threat.
