Moss'd in Space

Torian Razner has bought a starship, and she is determined to see it as a fresh start. Her former captain Amelia has less flattering opinions about the purchase, but an abandoned alien vessel seems a reasonable price for independence. Then Torian discovers that the moss covering the ship is its organic computer. Moss has a sharp tongue, a long memory and strong feelings about being left alone for a century. The immortal alien responsible for that abandonment soon turns up with an accusation of theft, making Torian’s escape plan considerably less simple. Navigating the trouble brings Amelia back into the picture. Between old attachments and a ship that wants someone to stay, Torian’s search for freedom becomes a question of belonging.
