Merchants of Milan

Florentina’s search for justice begins with her father’s death and leads her into a life that cannot be conducted entirely in daylight. In Renaissance Milan, she creates the masked identity of the Night Flyer, using ingenuity and daring to investigate the forces behind the killing. A position teaching the children of the widowed Madelena offers a very different kind of refuge. Within that household, affection begins to grow into love, complicating a mission Florentina has built around secrecy and revenge. The city’s rivalries and powerful interests make every discovery dangerous. As her public and hidden lives draw closer together, Florentina must decide how to pursue the truth while protecting the people who have given her a reason to imagine a future.
