Tori Moore teaches chemistry, bakes at home and wonders what life will look like when her twins leave the nest. Entering American Bake-o-Rama could bring her closer to opening a bakery, but a painful divorce has shaken her confidence. On set in Sonoma, she meets celebrity chef Kendra Campbell, whose uncompromising judging style has become a problem for producers seeking cosy television. Kendra needs the show to work, and Tori needs to prove she belongs in the competition. Neither needs an attraction that makes their professional boundaries harder to maintain. Across weeks of baking challenges, the two women must consider what pursuing each other could cost.
