Jericho

Syd Murphy accepts an eighteen-month library position in a small Appalachian town after her marriage collapses. Jericho, Virginia, seems like a place to recover quietly and keep the rest of the world at a manageable distance. The town’s residents have other ideas, steadily drawing Syd into their daily lives. Among them is Maddie Stevenson, a physician who has returned to take over her late father’s practice. Their growing friendship gives Syd an unexpected reason to stop treating her stay as a retreat. As the two women get to know one another within Jericho’s close community, the life Syd planned as temporary begins to offer possibilities she had not allowed herself to imagine.
