In the Shallows

Mara has never been certain that Nico feels as deeply about their relationship as she does. Beautiful and unpredictable, Nico occupies an enormous place in Mara's life, then vanishes from it. On New Year's Day, a girl is rescued from the sea with only her name left in memory. When Mara and Nico meet again, the missing past creates a possibility neither could have planned: a chance to begin differently. But the circumstances of Nico's accident remain unresolved, and a renewed relationship cannot exist entirely outside them. As answers emerge, Mara must face what remembering might mean for the future she hopes they can still share.
